The blockbuster sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun in the lead role, continues its box office journey but has seen a significant slowdown. According to data from Sacnilk.com, the film collected Rs 60 lakh on Monday, marking its lowest daily earnings since its release on December 5, 2024.

The movie, directed by Sukumar, follows the story of Pushpa Raj, a red sanders smuggler portrayed by Allu Arjun. The sequel has been a major box office hit, surpassing records set by previous Indian films.

In its opening week, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 725.8 crore, followed by Rs 264.8 crore in its second week. Subsequent weekly collections included Rs 129.5 crore in week three, Rs 69.65 crore in week four, Rs 25.25 crore in week five, and Rs 9.7 crore in week six. Recent daily collections have shown a decline, with Rs 95 lakh on day 44, Rs 1.1 crore on day 45, and Rs 1.5 crore on day 46. On its 47th day, early estimates suggest earnings of Rs 65 lakh across all languages.

The film’s total domestic net collection now stands at Rs 1,228.90 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

Pushpa 2: The Rule has overtaken Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become the second highest-grossing Indian film in history. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, who reprise their roles as Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The sequel to 2021’s Pushpa: The Rise continues to captivate audiences with its gripping storyline and performances. The franchise has cemented Allu Arjun’s status as one of India’s leading actors.

The film’s release was marred by a tragic event on December 4, 2024, at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during a promotional event. A large crowd gathered to see Allu Arjun, leading to a stampede. The incident resulted in the death of a woman, Revathi, and left her child, Sri Teja, critically injured.

Following the tragedy, Arjun visited KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad to meet the child and extended financial support to the family. His father, producer Allu Aravind, also announced a contribution of Rs 2 crore to assist them.
